hamburgers

when i eat at a burger joint like mcdonalds or burger king, i order the regular hamburger. nowadays, you dont even see it in the menu. usually they advertise some other burger that is 10x more expensive and has all these other ingredients.
i never really got into the big mac, or any of the gimmicky burgers-of-the-month.
i like, as the big bang theory people say, the meat to bun to condiment ratio of the regular hamburger.
my family thinks i'm being cheap when i order it, as if i was saving money or something. nothing can be further from the truth. i genuinely prefer the flavor of the regular hamburger. (for wendy's, i like the deluxe classic in the RP. it is not available in any wendy's out of the country)
all the other hamburgers are just too messy with the sauces (or something) spilling out of the burger. i like the neatness of the plain burgers.
sure, i appreciate other ingredients, but i grew up with this type of hamburger back in the day when the selection was smaller and simpler, so it is what i am used to.
it depends on my mood what kind of hamburger i'd get. usually i prefer a fire grilled burger. In the RP, this style of cooking is done by Hotshots and Brothers. Among the big chains, BK is my preferred brand. I am also used to the flavor of Mickey D's so I crave for that too sometimes. Jollibee, when i can get it, I prefer without their special sauce, and then i just add ketchup.

when i'm in manila, i always make it a point to drop by jollibee and burger machine. over here, i'm almost never in mcdo. if ever i do it's to get mcgriddles but that's rare since it's a breakfast meal. i don't remember when i was in bk last. i like jack in the box and in-n-out burger. but the last time i had one of those was when i was in cali. can't find them much here. jollibee burgers here (in both coasts) don't taste the same as in manila. i think they tried too much to appeal to the american palate that it essentially turned into mcdo and bk clones. i avoid them. the only place i go get a burger now is shake shack. i recommend it to everyone that comes to nyc. it's the best!!!

i thought the jollibee burger was similar. what tastes different for me is the chicken joy.
ya, j-i-t-b is ok. everyone in my family likes in-n-out as well, but i'm not so into it. why. why. i am not sure. i guess i dont like the meat to bun to condiment ratio. hey carlo! i got the season1 of big bang theory. i sort of now have a large dvd library, not by intention i assure you. i just dont have the opportunity to watch on tv so i just buy it here where it's cheaper. i got bsg Season2, and am looking for how i met your mother. oh man i still have a lot to buy and watch.

i've sort of stopped buying dvds. i wish i could continue, but it can get expensive. i use to just make copies of the netflix movies and shows we borrow as a cheaper alternative but eventually we weren't watching as much anymore so we stopped that as well. there's just too many good shows on tv and with a dvr per tv, we just have too much to watch as it is... besides, with blu-ray winning the format war, i'd probably want to start my collection with that format (when they sell cheaper and when i have money of course)...
big bang and himym are a monday night staple. you might also like new adventures of old christine, gary unmarried and rules of engagement - but they might appeal more to the married or coupled folk (not sure...) other shows we enjoy are: bones and the mentalist. give those a try when you can. even more: rescue me, house, the unit, the office, 30 rock, reaper, criminal minds, fringe, entourage, the daily show, the colbert report, family guy, 24, burn notice, dexter, secret diaries of a call girl, doctor who, torchwood, conan o'brien, letterman, kimmel, andrew zimmern, dirty jobs, etc etc ... tooo m-much teeveee......

thanks for the suggestions.
since i have missed out on a lot of new show premieres and stuff, i dont know what's out there anymore.
i know almost all of the ones you mentioned though.
sometimes i come across references later on, like i keep on hearing about "freaks and geeks" and "oz," but i've actually never seen an episode. i used to logon to network websites and check out all their offerings with the online streaming. "mad men" is really good, i can suggest that.
family guy's hilarious of course. i stopped watching burn notice when the season ended, mostly because it isnt available where i'm at. they sure have a lot of output in the usa.

yup! waaay too much output... it rots your brain!
i found some episodes of 'freaks and geeks' in youtube before (in case you want to see it). i only saw the pilot. funny enough. most of the stars went on to do other tv and movies. i hear about 'oz' and 'mad men' also but haven't gotten around to checking them out.
i normally give new shows a look, but it's rare that one really stands out for me. this season, only a handful of new shows were worth watching. some good old ones were cancelled, and some awful and mediocre once were kept on. labo.

For me, the best ocassion to go grab a hamburger, fries and a large coke is when I am under a lot of stress, my favorite... Mc Donalds Big tasty without tomato. Kind of messy but... that's the good part.
